The hotel location was very good for the area of London I wanted to be in, Kensington and Chelsea. About 10 minutes walk to the Royal Albert Hall, as I was going to the Proms. The building is very impressive, original features, high ceilings. Which is the style of architecture of the area. The hotel is having work done to it outside when I visited. It did not spoil my trip, it is to be expected that hotels need on going maintenance. Some of the paintwork inside could do with repainting. The hotel is very clean, I had an executive double room which had a settee and desk area as well. The hotel staff are all lovely and helpful, good choice of breakfast options. A nice bar/ lounge area to relax in, which had a TV in as well., which was air conditioned.

We wanted something close to The Royal Albert Hall & had originally booked another hotel. I changed to The Gem Strathmore at the last minute, due it being over £100 cheaper than anywhere else in the area. Location is great, near the RAH & plenty of pubs & restaurants within stones throw. Staff were very friendly & room was clean. Didn’t have breakfast in hotel as ate out, but dining hall is beautiful & lots of people used. Bar area looked very regal & historic. Staff were friendly & accommodating.

Very pleasantly surprised with our stay at the Strathmore. We asked for a triple room, but received a room for four (2 twins, one large double). The room (room number 120) was very large, with high ceilings and double doors that opened onto a small balcony. I celebrated my birthday while at the hotel, and the staff made it special with balloons and other decorations in the room. The tea and coffee in the room was very generous, and great location. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Amy

I stayed in one-person room and it was tiny, but very much sufficient for me. The room had everything a person staying for one night needs: it was clean, it had a kettle and lots of teas and coffees, as well as a whole bottle of water. The bathroom was super clean (and also very small - but that didn't bother me). The staff are really nice and welcoming. It is a walking distance from Royal Albert Hall.

Daria

Everything including service excellent. We were allocated a third floor room which was not big enough for us and very very warm, we were immediately re located to basement room with AC which was great. Rooms clean, well stocked with towels, and bathroom sundries, housekeeping are simply wonderful and many thanks. Hard to fault this Gem just the minor beware below.
